Megdal For GM: Letter to Jeff Wilpon

I guess we’re at the end of the road for Megdal for GM.  Howard won all his primaries, and has send a letter off to Jeff Wilpon including the below.

By the way, I notice we (me, you, the media, the blogs) all speak of “Jeff Wilpon.”  Did Fred sell the team or quit or something.

I ask that, before you make any decisions about who your next General Manager will be, that you take some time and meet with me. I will happily come to the place of your choosing at your convenience. I am certain that, once I detail for you exactly how to turn the New York Mets into the consistent winner you both deserve and have sought during your tenure in ownership, we will find it mutually beneficial to work together.

I pledged my support to Howard in exchange for Lee Mazzilli Poster Day II and I think he said he’d get rid of the black unis (despite the stager image on his site).

“This is about 2010 instructional league,” Wogan said. “We would much rather be at home in St. Lucie, and that’s nothing against this complex and nothing against Lee County, because we’re thrilled with the way we’re being treated.”

The Mets relocated for the fall because the St. Louis Cardinals, who train 30 minutes away from St. Lucie, have canceled their fall instructional league. The Marlins have limited their players to 10 days.

The Mets would have been on buses for two to three hours a day in order to compete.

Video of Steinbrenner ceremony

Here’s an 18 minute video of the Steinbrenner ceremony. I would embed it but MLB would go out of business if they allowed us to share videos.

Is it wrong of me to say that the monument is absurdly large?   You have to see it to believe it (skip to the end).

Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio…9/11….and this thing?

…

I’m still laughing that Frank Sinatra Junior sang the anthem at Fake New Yankee Stadium.  Seems appropriate.

Also heard Suzyn throw it to “the PA Announcer.”   I guess Paul Olden will get a name in another 48 seasons.

Mets Bark in the Park 2010

I love this but $32 for a human?
Can the dogs bring banners for the parade?

North Shore is a great place. I am a big fan and have had two great lifelong friends from there.
