WCBS NEWSRADIO 880 – Probe Scrutinizes Concrete at Yankee Stadium

According to WCBS NEWSRADIO 880 – Probe Scrutinizes Concrete at Yankee Stadium there may be some issues with the concrete at New Yankee Stadium.    A spokesman say it’s just cosmetic.   A billion dollar stadium with cracks this soon?

This is a picture of some of the beautiful Yankee concrete I took earlier this season.   What a majestic facility.

Save (Real) Yankee Stadium’s Gate 2

I fully support the plan to save Gate 2.

Some fans want to retain old Yankee Stadium’s Gate 2 as part of Heritage Field on the site.

“One of the most common comments we get when we talk to people about it is: who would be against this?” said Costello, an insurance company safety consultant and aYankees fan despite his family’s roots in Brooklyn.

But the city is not seriously considering the proposal, which would involve restoring the Yankee Stadium name and two carved eagle medallions to the gate, to make it look as it did in 1928, and building a new side wall.

The article also mentions that there’s no statue of Babe Ruth at Fake New Yankee Stadium.  Mets Police featured this guest article from the Ruth family back in April.

So now I have said nice things about the Yankees and Phillies and it’s not even 9am.  I’m sure I will be popular today.

Watch ALCS Game 3 At New Yankee Stadium

If you like being cold, and don’t have a 9 to 5 job, head on up to the Bronx tomorrow.

The New York Yankees announced today that they will open the Stadium Field Level and Great Hall to the public to watch the broadcast of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) Game 3 from Anaheim on Monday, October 19. The decision to open the Stadium was made after consultation with Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.
Turnstiles between Gates 4 and 6 will open at 3:30 p.m. for the 4:13 p.m. Game. Fans can watch the Game in the Great Hall or in the opened sections of the Field Level.

“We wanted to provide a place for our fans to come together to cheer for our team even if the game itself is taking place across the country,” said Hal Steinbrenner, Yankees Managing General Partner. “This is a way of saying thank you for their continued support.”

“I thank the New York Yankees for opening their amazing new Stadium to the community, and I hope that people from all over the city will come out to cheer for the Yankees and share in what’s sure to be a great night right here in The Bronx,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Food and concession stands will be open and available to fans. NYY Steak and Hard Rock Cafe will also be open.

Picture Of Yankee Stadium Cafe Seating

As I said on Sunday, I’m not going to ignore the Yankees and write generic columns about Joel Youngblood.   (That’s what December is for).    We have our Yankee friend “Mr. Sunshine” (the Yankees can never do wrong) on assignment tonight and here’s what he has sent back.

This is the “Cafe Seating” the NYY’s added….”Cafe” is Latin for stick a plank where the standing room was.

That being said, it’s not awful.  There doesn’t seem to be any plexiglass and you can see the left fielder.

These are the flags blowing out to right.  He also tells me he is cold.  And Mrs. Sunshine’s hat blew away.  I’m on a leather couch drinking a beer, snuggling with a blanket and popped a Sam Adams.  Who’s laughing now?  Oh and the game is in HD.
