Mets 2021 Mother’s Day Cap

Hmmm I somehow missed this but fortunately Uni Watch Gets It Done with this full recap and FAQs.

Wanna know when they will be worn?  Are there jerseys?  Well then click here.

High crowns suck.  If this came in low crown (maybe it does) it’s not atrocious.

And now I know what @mediagoon’s text from last week meant –  “on way 2 modells want anythin?”

UPDATE: it does exist in low crown but of course charging $40 for a cap is criminal so PASSSSS>

If you had to get one this would be the move.  I don’t know what makes a cap “women’s” but it looks better than the others.

This color scheme actually looks best on Boston.

What happened to all the colorful Mets caps?

Long story short, I was looking to buy an orange cap.  Long time readers know I have posted tons of wacky Mets caps over the years and I was stunned to find….they are all gone from the various websites!

Is this the Fanatics Borg taking over?   I went to MLB shop and Lids and New Era and many of the custom caps sites and I can’t find…

And I also can’t find any wacky colors!

You used to be able to just jump on and buy a colorful cap.  No more.

I am not mad about it, just curious why the Cap People have trimmed the available inventory.

I am in the process of determining which cap I will use to give its service to sun and sand.  Each summer I beat the heck out of one cap.  Haven’t picked yet.  If you wear them out at the beach/poolside all summer they actually shrink over time.

The Big Zero Marcus Stroman needs to stop whining

To bring back an old Mets catchphrase – Man Up And Play Better.  The Big Zero is whining about METS MANAGEMENT here.  My apologies for his profane hostage, parental guidance is suggested.

As baseball fans know, and baseball players SHOULD know, whether or not to start a game is decided by the HOME TEAM.  So take it up with Mr. Cohen and Mr. Alderson.

Also….just pitch.   #STU, but in the Alonsic way.

FLUSHING, N.Y., April 11, 2021 – The New York Mets have announced that this afternoon’s game against the Miami Marlins has been suspended due to rain. It will resume as the first game of a separate admission doubleheader on Tuesday, August 31 at 1:10 p.m.

The game regularly scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 will start at 7:10 p.m. Game one will be a nine-inning game, while the night game will last seven innings. Tickets for today’s game will NOT be valid for admission to the August 31 doubleheader.

(My note – this is phrased oddly and for a second I thought they were playing three games.  No.  Todays game is the day game on the 31st, and there is a different game with different admission at night.)

Fans with tickets and parking passes to today’s postponed game will automatically receive a credit in their “My Mets Tickets” account in the amount of the face value of their paid ticket and parking pass for today’s game. Fans can apply the credit value of today’s tickets and parking pass toward the purchase of a ticket to any 2021 regular season Mets home game (excluding the September 10-12 Subway Series vs. Yankees) or to any 2022 regular season home game played on or before April 11, 2022 (excluding 2022 Opening Day), subject to availability. If such an exchange is made for a higher priced ticket, the credit will be applied toward the price of the higher priced ticket.

Complimentary tickets to today’s game and those marked “NO RAINCHECK” have no value and do not constitute a rain check.

Tickets for Mets games are available at Mets.com, the MLB Ballpark app, by calling (718) 507-TIXX or by visiting the Citi Field Box Office.

A look at the Syracuse Mets stadium renovations

So whereas we had to nag the New York Mets to decorate their ballpark with Mets Stuff over a decade ago, the Syracuse Mets have their act together.

Mr. and Mrs. Met are plastered everywhere, welcoming visitors and giving directions. There are new, easy-to-read signs directing fans to the proper seats and sections.

Linger behind home plate and you’ll see a terraced section with stand-alone tables and group-style seating. Further down each baseline are a pair of open berms covered by artificial turf, where groups of fans can congregate (following social distancing rules, of course), spread out a bit and even lie down. Protective meshing now extends from foul pole to foul pole, so there’s little chance of errant balls flying into the area to zonk distracted fans.

Keep meandering down the third-base concourse and you’ll hit the airy 315 Bullpen Bar directly above the left-field fence.

“This is a really unique elevated bar experience we didn’t have here at the stadium before,” Wixson said. “It’s a fantastic view. When you’re here at this railing, you feel like you’re in the game.” (via Syracuse.com)

It took me a minute but this is the Salt City DECK.   That E looked like an I.
