Does Mike Piazza support the baseball boycott? How about the Delta boycott?

In October 2020, Mike Piazza reportedly attended a rally to support then-President Trump.

Via a statement the former President recently said, “Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections Boycott baseball.

And in case there was any doubt who he was referring to he went on to call out a few companies by name: “Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!”  (via Slate)

So I have some questions.

Does Mike Piazza still support former former President Trump?

Will Mike follow former President Trump’s suggestion to boycott baseball?

Will Mike follow former President Trump and boycott Delta?  Delta is a major sponsor of the New York Mets.

Fortunately, Mike Piazza has made himself available for an interview tomorrow, in which Mike is supposedly taking questions.  Hopefully these topics will come up, and Mike can let us all know where he stands on these baseball related topics.

I think a bad use of Mike’s time would be to ask him about black uniforms and that time he hit a home run.  Those topics have been well discussed and well answered.

Speaking of the time Mike Piazza hit a home run….do you think the Mets will invite America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani to the game on 9/11/21?

Which reminds me….does Mets board member Chris Christie still side with Former President Trump?  Does Mr. Christie think we should boycott baseball?  Does Mr. Christie think we should boycott Delta?

So those are my questions.   I don’t think Chris Christie has any media availability on Monday.   But Mike Piazza does.  Ask the questions.

I know some of you out there are going to ask WHO CARES.  To that my answer is several hundred thousand Americans died last year under President Trump’s watch.  So my question to Mike begins with…..you attended a Trump rally in October, do you still support him and will you follow his suggestions to boycott baseball and major Mets sponsor Delta?

I will answer the questions myself.

I am not boycotting baseball.

I am not boycotting Delta.

I do not support former President Trump.

See, that wasn’t hard at all.

Link: The Mets are Losers – The Atlantic

As the Mets continue to not play baseball, there isn’t much happening.   The Atlantic has an article called The Mets Are Losers which really doesn’t have anything new. You know the drill, we are Mets fans always bracing for the worst and stuff…

In fact, amazing and/or miraculous postseason runs are as much a part of the Mets’ identity as losing 120 games in 1962. For everyone who cares about the Mets, the DNA of seasons such as 1969, with the original Miracle Mets; 1973, when the “Ya Gotta Believe” Mets went from last place to Game 7 of the World Series in two months; and 1986, a season-long bullet train—right up until they almost derailed twice in the playoffs—has encoded in us this hapless instinct that a reversal of fortune is always possible. It’s happened before, and it’s happened more than once. It’s kind of our thing.

The mental state of your standard-issue Mets fan is to be simultaneously certain of humiliating defeat and pretty darn sure there’s a miracle brewing. It’s not bracing for the worst, exactly. It’s bracing for something. Something awful, surely … but maybe not! Mets fans have the capacity to believe in both outcomes with equal commitment. This is very hard to do. You probably couldn’t pull it off. You’d have to be special. (via The Atlantic)

Matt Harvey #2 Starter? How’d he do? You’ll look!

Guess who’s back?  Back again.  Harvey’s back.  Tell a friend.  But first let’s recap his 2020 season in Kansas City.

In the first Matt was cruising along and it’s a fly ball to HAYS and this should do it……what the…

Uh oh runner on second, will this cause the Matt Harvey meltdown?

NO!  Matt retires the side and we go to the 2nd.

It’s relatively uneventful, a harmless single, and we are scoreless through 2.

And a 1-2-3 Third has the Orioles social media intern pretty excited!

Let’s go to the 4th and J.D. Martinez gets his second look at the Dark Knight and…UH OH….

It’s a single.  And then ANOTHER single.  Could THIS be the meltdown?

A groundout moves the runners over, but this next play may be the most important play of the game.  SPOILER Matt’s outing is pretty good on paper, but let’s look at this next flyout. Look at the distance marker on the wall.  Now imagine what this pitch is in most parks…

…..this is a home run in Camden Yards.  You throw that pitch in Fake New Yankee Stadium and it will land on 169th street. Also it was 46 degrees in Boston today, not 87 in Baltimore.   But it’s an out and scores a run.

We’ll go to the 5th and The Real Deal is dealing and now has a 3-1 lead.  A win could be in the cards.  But a couple of singles and now it’s J.D. Martinez who is 2 for 2 on the day and…

It’s off Matt’s “leg” and caroms…

Run scores and it’s 3 to 2.  And we’ve all seen this look before….

That will do it for The Dark Knight.  No win today.

People are getting all excited!  Is Matt Harvey THE NEXT JIM PALMER??  Yes.  I am going to say yes.

As for Matt himself….

“I think getting into a couple jams and then being able to get out of it, especially early in the game, I think that was huge for us to kind of get to the point where we did and win the game, eventually” Harvey said. “Obviously I’m kicking myself to not get out of that fifth and deeper in the game, but overall, I think it was a solid first start and to try and build off that next time.”

“That’s the biggest thing we worked on in the spring and kind of transferred that over to today,” Harvey said.  (via Baltimore Sun)

So a pretty good day for Matt Harvey.  Perhaps he got to head to the North End to live out the first verse of this song….

She said I seen you in here before
I said I been here a time or two
She said “Hello my name is Bobby Jo,
Meet my twin sister Betty Lou
And we’re both feelin’ kinda wild tonight
You’re the only cowboy in this place
And if you’re up for a rodeo
I’ll put a big Texas smile on your face”
I said “Girls…”

I ain’t as good as I once was
I got a few years on me now
But there was a time, back in my prime
When I could really lay it down
If you need some love tonight
Then I might have just enough
I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once
As I ever was

Enjoy your Saturday Night on the town Batman.

4 and 2/3.  2 runs both earned.  SIX hits, a walk, and 4 Ks.

Mets’ Marcus Stroman has ZERO idea what it means to be a Met

mets metspolice 12 jersey new mets home uniform

mets metspolice 12 jersey new mets home uniform

Marcus,

First of all I see you asked for prayers for your family.  In the end that’s what is important so I do hope all is well on that front.

However, you said something and I totally calling you out.

You have NO IDEA what you are talking about when you say

“I feel like it’s synonymous with being a Met, that black jersey”

That’s the least synonymous thing possible.

You’ve played in 11 more Mets games than I have, and that’s 11 too many and clearly have Zero idea about the Mets.  Zero.

Since I want to be respectful toward your family situation I will stop there.
