Looks like Shea Stadium was renovated in Iron Man’s Universe

It’s a slow Friday and I’m reaching the ends of the internet.

There’s a new viral site for Iron Man 2 which features the Stark Expo which is held in Flushing Meadows Park (or at least is in 2010 and 1974).

It looks to me that Shea was retrofitted with Ebbett’s Field style arches replacing the outside, and that the circle was completed.

  1. That’s cool looking, but I’m not sure if I’m excited that Shea is there, disturbed that they altered it, or annoyed they didn’t use Citi.

  2. Just goes to show you all the weird stuff you have to think of these days. They probably were dealing with old footage and then scrambled to change it. Either way, it will probably be on the screen for a millisecond. Or maybe, just maybe, that is Stark Stadium. 🙂

  3. here is where my super geekness is coming out. The Iron Man/Hulk/Thor/Avenegers movies all take place in the Ultimates Universe. Everything is a lil tweeked. Thats why Iron Mans origin is a a little bit different and Nick Fury is Sam Jackson. I know no one really cares but i figured I would explain.

  4. Totally psyched for kick ass and iron man 2. Quick side note today I am seeing a lot and i mean a lot of mets fan merchandise being worn out in the wild over last 2 days. Lots of blue hats

  5. Ever think that if Wilpon was not so in love with the Ebberts Field look that they could of rebuilt another Shea only one that was more modern……and was enclosed in the back with real bleachers and the same pepsi area and rest of CF best features?

  6. In Iron Man’s movie universe maybe the Doubleday’s still own the Mets and the Wilpons sold.
