Long time readers may be surprised to see me writing this. Â Heck, I can’t believe I am writing this.
I think it may be time to call Pedro, and not just because John Maine stunk.
Pedro sells tickets. Â Pedro brings energy. Â Pedro distracts your fanbase. Â Maybe Pedro brings some of the 2006 style fun to the clubhouse.
Pedro is a product you can sell to your customers.
The team is off to the dreaded slow start and attendance wasn’t awesome during the first homestand. Â The “comebacks” slogan is already being mocked (tweeters sais a John Maine version showed up on SNY with the Mets down 8-0)
Last year Pedro was 5-1 3.63 in 9 starts. Â I’m not saying bring back pedro the Ace, that guy is long long gone (last seen June 6, 2006). Â Bring back Pedro the entertainer. Â What’s he gonna do, give up 8 runs in 3 innings?
It might not be the worst play.
I don’t think he’s coming to be Pedro the entertainer. He wants to win. The 2010 Mets look like they going to be a .500 team.
If the Mets feel the need to do something to generate excitement, let’s get a new manager in here and start a youth movement.
