More ridiculous Yankee Stadium security: no iPads

Trying to get into Yankee Stadium is one of the most amazing experiences you’ll ever have.

Yankee Stadium security can be quite entertaining.  They make you remove your cap when you enter.  As you may have heard, baseball cap bombs are one of the major threats to our society.  I mean, why would anyone wear a cap to a ballgame unless they were up to something.    That knife you hid in your sock?  Don’t worry about that – please remove your cap sir.

There was the great suntan lotion ban from a few years ago.   How many stadiums needed to be destroyed by suntan lotion villains before the Yankees had the courage to put a stop to it?

Sometimes they kind of allow bags, and sometimes they don’t.   Big League Stew has let us all know about yet another item that is not allowed in Yankee Stadium. iPads.

Stew points out that the TSA doesn’t even make you take an ipad out of a bag if you want to bring it on an airplane.

By Yankee Stadium I mean the fake new one where all the true Yankees like A-Rod play.

For your convenience, the rules are below:

• The following items are prohibited:
  • Any soft-sided bag larger than 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches, including diaper bags, backpacks and purses
  • Briefcases, coolers and hard-sided bags and containers
  • Glass, cans and plastic bottles
  • Laser pens
  • Video cameras
  • Laptop computers
  • Firearms or knives
  • Beach balls, blow horns and all other distracting noisemakers
  • Any other devices that may interfere with and/or distract any sports participant, other patron, audio or audio/visual telecast or recording of the game or any technology-related service provided in Yankee Stadium
• Such items will be prohibited from being brought into Yankee Stadium. There is no storage area for these items. Guests arriving by mass transit should take particular care not to bring any prohibited items, as no exceptions will be made.
• Factory-sealed plastic water bottles 1 liter in size or smaller are permissible. Please see the Bottles and CansBottles And Cans entry.
• Guests who are or appear to be intoxicated and/or unmanageable will not be permitted into Yankee Stadium.
• Re-entry is not permitted. Please see the Exit/Re-Entry Exit/Re-Entry entry.
• Only vehicles dropping off or picking up guests with disabilities will be permitted curbside at Yankee Stadium. No other vehicles are permitted curbside.
