Best around the ballpark

Good morning Mets fans,

Not much happening – especially after a day game.

Ed Hearn will be honored at Citi Field on the 10th which is cool.

The Mets and MLB have created a (fake) Best Around the Ballpark page – which coincidentally includes places like Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse who not only sponsors the Mets but is located right near Citi Field on Bell Blvd.  You guys wanna walk over or take the LIRR to Jamiaca and then back to Bell?   “Around” seems to have a liberal definition.

I’m still on the shakedown cruise with my new laptop.  It has been an expensive week for blogging hobbies!   Howevver I may finally get to do the “catching up” I have been talking about for weeks.

No Unnamed Donuts Chain today.  Been there a lot this week to the point where I’m sick of it.

  1. If I may be overly literal about this, you go to Jamaica, you ain’t gettin’ to Bell Blvd. Take the LIRR from Shea/Mets-Willets Point to Bayside. It’s on the Port Washington line.

I know at least one person who killed time between a day-night doubleheader (Shea’s last in Sept. ’08) with dinner at Uncle Jack’s, but her party drove.

Flushing is full of restaurants. No dumpling houses listed?

Your larger point holds (as it usually does). This is characteristically bogus. Mets almost certain we understand nothing. After all, we are Mets fans. I’m surprised there wasn’t a service charge just to read that page. Hell, there probably was.

Good luck with the new computer.
