Kiner’s Korner Revisited Revisited

Got some folks asking about Kiner’s Korner revisited – you can find the episodes on SNY.TV

I believe there have been two so far, and since this is a holiday weekend and traffic will be low….enjoy this rerun post!

Here’s another episode with Ed Kranepool

And while we’re enjoying our weekend here’s some other links you may have missed:

  1. For newer fans, I don’t consider these Kiner’s Korner episodes. They are Kiner interviews for sure, but Kiner’s Korner was a post-game show that had the following characteristics:

    1) It was done after Met home games…Ralph would have to go down to his studio and wait for the game to end. Someone then had to get the star of the game to come and be on live, usually still in uniform.
    2) The show was unscripted of course and mainly included game highlights that the guest would describe with prompting from Ralph. Given the unrehearsed nature, it was fertile ground for Ralph’s classic malaprops.
    3) They would have dial in contests, where you could win a can of Gillette Foamy for example (NOTE: I won once and am still waiting for my Foamy).

These revisited interviews are nice, but as you can see, have none of the characteristics of a good old Kiner’s Korner. I would love to see a true episode.
