Amazin Avenue questions the Bobby V fixation

I can’t believe Amazin’ Avenue and I agree on something!

I think V may make sense from a business standpoint….bread and circuses appease the rabble…he’ll win the backpage…..but then there’s that whole thing about finishing first in the majors as many times as I have, one less than Willie who was run out of town, and one less than Jerry who was allowed to board a train out of town.  Art Howe finished first twice.   Just sayin’

I don’t understand why Mets fans are so obsessed with Bobby Valentine.  In more than 2,000 MLB games, he has a record of 1,117 – 1,072.  That’s a .510 winning percentage, with just two playoff appearances out of 14 seasons completed (with the Rangers, he was fired midway through another year).

  1. Bobby V is the last thing this team needs right now!
People who want him hired are either un-informed or just were not paying attention to his previous tenure here.

For those that need reminding of what you can expect, look no further than his recent dealings with the Marlins!

I mean who applies to a job and then removes his name from consideration not just ONCE but TWICE!
First time was in the middle of the season when Bobby claimed they didn’t respect him and again recently when he went back to the team that didn’t respect him looking for a second chance!

There are all these stories about where Bobby might go and do. Does anyone think it is the teams that are putting these tidbits out into the press? Did Seattle call the press and say we may consider Bobby V to be our manager? NO! It was Bobby putting it out there and not merely because he wanted that job but because he was hoping to use it as leverage with the Marlins and Mets to press them into hiring him before someone else did!

No it’s all BOBBY! Bobby has a bigger press fetish than Steinbrenner EVER had! He negotiates with his management and players in the press! He is not man enough to deal with these people one on one and he is possibly the WORST candidate to manage the Mets I can think of. Even worse than just retaining Manuel who at least had the balls to say to Perez and Maine, YOU SUCK! and then not play them anymore!

Bobby would keep throwing them out there and then deride them to the press hoping to embarass them into performing. Or worse blame the GM for having them on the team. Fine to blame them to their face but Bobby doesn’t deal that way! You have to read in the papers how Bobby feels about any situation.

Thats not what this team needs right now! or EVER!
