Forgiveness for K-Rod

Good morning Mets fans,

Thanks to Media Goon for minding the store yesterday…I didn’t get a chance to jump on the K-Rod news but it sure looks like the Mets have found their 2011 closer.

Mets Chief Operating Officer Jeff Wilpon said: “We are pleased that Frankie Rodriguez has accepted responsibility for his actions and their consequences.  We have been assured that he is taking steps to address the issues that led to the incident, and that those efforts will continue.  We have also been assured that he will work hard both on and off the field to regain the trust of the organization, Mets fans and the community.”

So K-Rod has been forgiven….and with that Wally can enter the dugout without hypocrisy.  I think it was about a month ago (seems to be September 22nd) when I asked “Can K-Rod be forgiven?” and it looks like the answer is yes.

The question I have is….how much is this about forgiveness, how much is about money?   Can “Raul Valdes” get in a domestic squabble?  Conversely can David Wright do something “bad” and get away with it?
