Mets Police Morning Laziness: Thor helps Mets win second half NL East! Wait, that’s not a thing…

Congratulations to the Second Half Champion New York Mets.  Below are the standings for after the All Star Break and as you can see the Mets do really well when there is no pressure and three of the teams aren’t trying at all the last three weeks!

With the Mets playing so well you’d think the people that were walking around wearing #WickedLoyal shirts could have been #Loyal to the last out like they claim to be.

You don’t get to Best Fans In Baseball us all summer and then pull this.  Best Fans In Baseball When We’re 11-1 or Already Paid For The Hotel.  Lots of frontrunners out there join the diehards.  Props to the people in this picture but let’s tap the brakes on the story that was sold all summer.

SLACKISH REACTION:  Game 162’s are always weird.  My number one follower finishes with a 13-4 3.03 and a very nice career record of 37-22 with a 2.93 ERA and still only 26 years old.  Your assignment for the off-season is to lay relatively low and not cuckold the mascot.

Finally, it was time to say goodbye to The Virus.

And in his final AB of his second Mets tenure, and quite possibly of his career, The Virus did not run it hard all the way to first.

And, as tradition, The Virus came out of the game after the first inning to end his Mets Tenure.  Bye Bye Virus, there was probably some alternate universe where you got a day as big as Wright did, but maybe the Marlins will throw it for you a few minutes after midnight.

David Wright broke the rules one last time on Saturday, there he is both wearing an illegal undershirt and fraternizing with an opposing player while in uniform!!!

On Sunday we saw David break out a dark gray undershirt.  Perhaps he thought he was following the 2017 rules which said a “heather gray” shirt was OK. That phrasing no longer exists in the 2018 rules there Cap.

but David wasn’t the only one breaking the rules (link)

NOT LINKING:  Now you will get 500 articles about the Mets GM search.  Winter has come, and we shall find out who can blog and who posts the name of the starting pitcher.  Game on AAIMBR.  Looking forward to all the Rewind posts where we review everyone’s season.
