I went on a field trip and took a bunch of photos of Yankee Stadium (1976 version). Â Unlike usual they came out OK. Â I’ll post half tonight and then the rest on Friday. Â Why the split you ask? Â (1) Â photos slow down the site and (2) I need to pre-write much of Friday because I have this job thing that pays the bills unless you all click the Stubhub links on the right some more. Â Don’t you want to see some games?
Gluten-free and vegetarian food come to Citi Field
FLUSHING, N.Y., March 24, 2010 – The New York Mets and ARAMARK – a world-class leader in professional services and the Mets’ food and beverage partner – today unveiled their All-Star Dining Line-Up for the 2010 season at Citi Field, building upon the ballpark’s position as the leader in dining experiences at sports and entertainment venues.
The Mets and award-winning ARAMARK chefs have collaborated with their world-renowned partners at Drew Nieporent’s Myriad Restaurant Group, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, and Dave Pasternack of Esca to offer expanded menus, highlighted by new items such as a Crab Cake Sandwich, Peking Duck Bun and Lasagna Bolognese.
In response to fan requests, the Mets and ARAMARK will debut a gluten-free stand, courtesy of Kozy Shack. The Kozy Shack Gluten-Free Stand on the Field Level outside the World’s Fare Market will feature a full line of Kozy Shack puddings, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and beer. For vegetarian fans, Yves Spicy Veggie Hot Dog & Harvest Veggie Burger will be available at general concession stands throughout the ballpark. Deadspin: Gooden DWI
I don’t like getting into true policing, but this is too big to ignore. Â Rats.
Deadspin is reporting Gooden was arrested in NJ.
I wish Mr. Gooden well but I can’t condone drunk driving.
13 Pictures of the new Citi Field fanwalk history squares
Media Goon got sick and tired of my lousy photography so he got in the Goonmobile and headed out to Citi Field – he took some great shots and I’m going to split them into two parts. Â Today I thought we’d look at the fanwalk since these weren’t covered in that awesome set that made the rounds the other day.
I haven’t fact checked them yet. Â If you missed yesterday, at least one is incorrect.
More from Media Goon’s trip tomorrow!
I’m “known” for killing the Mets about not honoring team history. Â Let me say loud and proud, good job!

Baseball Digest’s 2010 New York Mets preview
About an hour or so ago I enjoyed chatting with Mark Healey from Baseball Digest, who asked me to check out his 2010 preview. It’s well written, can;t say he’s wrong, but I’m going to get through this week without being the most negative Mets blogger.
Maybe I have been wearing my Howie Rose colored glasses, bu I feel hopeful about the Mets today, and was psyched to hear that Reyes will be back. Â As I wrote Mark, I won’t be surprised if Jose wins the MVP, and I won’t be surprised if he has a year not worthy of his talent.
Mark is in that Murphy-ain’t-that-good club that we heard a lot from on twitter today, and he’s also on the other side of the Mejia debate (I’m one of those guys who wants him on the team).
Player evaluation isn’t my thing. Â I’m more interested in what music Mejia will choose when he warms up, so check out Baseball Digest.
Tomorrow Baseball Digest has Murray Chass on their radio show. Â Murray hates the internet I think. Â Check out Mark and argue Mejia with him, I’m too sleepy tonight: Â Â Â Wednesday’s Baseball Digest LIVE-Â http://tinyurl.com/yz3fspy
Speaking of tonight, I was going to watch Yearbook 1980 and Lost and got suckered into blogging. Â Come back in the morning for a Blue Cap Army update and some great pictures from Citi Field.
