The Dean. Will this guy manage the Mets? No.

Maybe what the Mets need is a guy who understand that the organization he works for is a complete joke and has no money.  Enter…the Dean.

The Dean is used to doing his best with no resources.  He’s always up for a good theme day to keep the customers happy.  He is charismatic and will be happy to take questions from Gelbs.  I can’t imagine him yelling at a guy named Tim.

The Dean is probably perfect for the job, which is why the Mets won’t hire him.

Will The Dean manage the Mets? No.

Anakin Skywalker. Will this guy manage the Mets? No

I think I have found the perfect candidate for the Mets.  Anakin Skywalker.

Think about it.  He is young and part of a new generation.  The Mets can sell us on a new culture.

The Mets will get off to a great start.  People will buy t-shirts.  Comedians will come to games and represent themselves as The Biggest Mets Fans until they go back on tour in June when the Mets suck.

Then, it will eventually come out that Anakin murdered a bunch of younglings at the Jedi Temple.   His rage will come out and he will yell at a guy named Tim, which will be what really gets him fired after the Mets try to cover up the youngling stuff.

Plus he can force choke Gelbs.

Unfortunately, the Mets don’t have a front office to hire a manager, so Anakin will likely go to the Marlins.

Will Anakin Skywalker manage the Mets?  No.

If Matt Harvey did this….Lindor attends basketball game

Man, if Matt Harvey attended a basketball game instead of working out and watching game films, especially after coming off a season in which he booed the fans AND had a lousy .732 OPS (OPS is a stupid stat millennials and Ceetar like – for the rest of you it means he hit .230 with 20 HRs..but millennial need Video Game Numbers or they can’t understand baseball)……..anyway if Matt Harvey did this, you guys would be mad at him.

Howie Rose. Will this guy manage the Mets? No.

Imagine this.

The Mets just blew a 3-2 lead with questionable bullpen usage.  On WFAN, a young rising talent rips into the Mets manager.  You’re hanging on every word. You’re thinking This Host Is Correct!.  Plus the host is clearly a big time Mets fan.  He’s one of us!

Is the year 1989?  No.  It’s 2021 and the host on WFAN is ripping into new Mets manager Howie Rose!

I think Howie would be great.  For one, he wouldn’t use Openers and wouldn’t be afraid to tell the accountants to buzz off.   The team would dress nicely.  He clearly knows how to handle the media.  He’s one of us and a hometown hero.

There have been a few announcers turned managers…so why not Howie?  Wouldn’t you kind of enjoy seeing Howie be on the other side of the press conference? That could be some great television!

Unfortunately for us all, Howie is too smart to take this job.  Or if he does take it Howie might have to put it in his contract that Todd Kalas hosts half an hour of post-game before the young guy starts ripping Howie on the radio.  The Mets can be very sensitive ya know.

Will Howie Rose manage the Mets? No.
