  1. Last year was all about Harvey..Harvey, Harvey, Harvey…instant celeb.,,,TV star, nude model, All-Star game….now he sits from the side…gotta be tough.
    Hey Matt, we know it’s  tough…no 2014, OK….just get ready for 2015.

  2. I don’t know what schedule the Mets use, but just a minute or so on a search engine yields 10 months as a common front-end date for a pro pitcher to return to competition (12 months being the late end). For Harvey, that would mean he’s on a minor league rehab assignment some time in August.  If that comes to pass, I wouldn’t be surprised if the team just shuts him down once the minor league season ends, but they could call him up for some September action just the same.  Honestly, “he shouldn’t pitch for the Mets in 2014” is just pulling a number out of the air because somebody though it sounded good. There’s no science whatsoever behind keeping a pitcher on the shelf for another 5-6 months after he’s reached all his rehab benchmarks “just because,” and nothing is going to magically happen to Harvey’s elbow on February 1, 2015 to make it injury proof.  When he’s ready, he’s ready.
