Normally I do this on Sunday but here we are on Opening Day. Â I’m heading out to Citi to meet the Blue Cap Army, and lots of cool posts went up last night which should be plenty of content for you to look at. Â Expect fewer posts today, but follow along on twitter.com/metspolice or you can see the tweets right on the main Mets Police page.
Yesterday I had a ball at Citi Field (even met Mets Police fans!) and took a ton of pics, some of which are linked right here:
30 Assorted photos of the Mets Hall of Fame and Museum
21 Pictures of the outside of Citi Field including the Seaver and Hodges gates
The uniform display at the museum
The plaques at the Hall of Fame
Shea Bridge and interior tweaks
I feel Citi Field has finally become the home of the Mets!
Last week was an amazin’ week for Mets Police. Â We were mentioned in the New York Times! There’s tangible evidence that all this blogging actually changed something for better – and that was that the Mets quickly responded in repairing the errant Game 7 brick.
Here’s the recap of most popular articles and some they I think deserve a second look. Â Please feel encouraged to sign up for the free daily email so you never miss an article (plus you can goof off at work.)

Have the 1973 Mets lost their place in team history?
A while back I suggested some traditions for Citi Field. Â Meet me at The Apple is now checked off.

If you’re new, this regularly gets clicked: It might make financial sense, but it sure is annoying to think Bobby Bonilla will get $1 million a year from the Mets from 2011-2035.

Mets wearing pinstripes for opening day

Chief, think the Mets don’t have rabbit ears? I know you know they do, but just before Santana got the last out of the top of the third, Gary Cohen was talking about the renovations of the stadium, and he talked about how the Mets have redone the trappings to glorify the Mets’ history, not one of some other team. I am glad they made the changes, but one still has to wonder why it took the all of the criticism to have these things done in the first place.
P.S. The real Mets’ uniforms look great, don’t they?
I’ve decided not to do the “they were idiots why did we have to complain” post. Mistakes ere made. I’m not here to talk about the past.
The stadium looks great, the museum is great and the uniforms looked great.
not too many comments today – because all the regulars were standing with me in the lot!
I took 400 pictures, 4 videos, and have 33 emails waiting for me. I’m also sunburnt and my head hurts. but it was all worth it!
Ceetar was great meeting you. I am being an email slacker too! hen you have your stuff up let us know and I will link.
Chief, I respect that…I made the comment, because of what was said in the booth…Nice to see the Mets finally get Josh Johnson.
