I wish Saturday was on Saturday this week

One of the cool things about having your own blog is that you can share your feelings.

I am personally sad that this week’s Saturday+ game is on Thursday.

This is not a complaint and I have no issue with the Mets. Last year I killed them about selling “Saturday” plans that included other days.

This year the plan was called “Saturday Plus” so no harm.

That being said, I wish I had tickets for Saturday’s orange cap day instead of Thursday night.

Sure I could buy tickets for Saturday but I am already seeing at least two games this week.

Hopefully next year the Mets will just sell a “All the Saturdays and Only on Saturday Plan.”

Seinfeld on SNY tonight

I mentioned this a few days ago (or maybe Media Goon did, I can’t remember) but I have to train myself that not everyone reads the site every day.

Jerry Seinfeld will be calling 3 innings of the game on SNY tonight. I will bw at the game, so if there is someone out there who wants to take notes and send something in that would be great.

I refuse to discuss Annoying Celebrity that has been tied to Jerry and local teams.

In other news, the Mets are encouraging All Star Voting. Not only is it foam finger night, but if you’re on the main page of Mets Police check out the tumblr section on the right for a screen capture of today’s email from Metsco.

1986 Mets Autographed Shea Seatback

I’m not big into the “collectibles” thing but I think some of you will dig this.   I think I saw somewhere else that they are on sale only until 11am this morning.  Don’t quote me on that.  The site (and a picture) is here. Thanks to Will for sending in!

The 1986 season was the Mets 25th season in the National League. They began the season looking to equal or improve upon their 98-64 record from 1985 and to try and win the National League East Division. They would finish the season with a 108-54 record, cruising to the division title. They went on to defeat the Houston Astros in six games in the NLCS and the American League champion Boston Red Sox in seven games in the World Series. The following members of the 1986 New York Mets have signed this orange Shea Stadium seatback: Barry Lyons, Bruce Berenyi, Bud Harrelson, Darryl Strawberry, Dave Magadan, Davey Johnson, Doc Gooden, Doug Sisk, Ed Hearn, Gary Carter, George Foster, Howard Johnson, Jesse Orosco, Keith Hernandez, Kevin Elster, Lee Mazzilli, Lenny Dykstra, Mookie Wilson, Rafael Santana, Randy Niemann, Ray Knight, Rick Anderson, Roger McDowell, Ron Darling, Terry Leach and Tim Teufel. An MAB Celebrity Services certificate of authenticity is included.

You will receive a similar seat back as pictured. The seatback you will receive will not have a name plate in the center as depicted. The signatures are in great condition, but may vary in location. Each seat back contains various signs of weathering (possible cracks and slight discoloring) due to its length of time in Shea Stadium. The actual seat number may vary. All sales on seat backs are final.

New Mitchell & Ness BP Jerseys in Mets Blue

Well, I’m confident the Mets won’t blow 10-0, Keith is talking about leaving and I’m kinda sleepy…so I’m heading off to Howie & The Pillow and leave you with this:

Mitchell & Ness have new “Authentic Mesh Batting Practice Jerseys” for $80.

As you know, blue jerseys would never sell…only black does….so there’s no reason to click this link and get yourself a 16, 17, 18 or 1.

Speaking of blue, my favorite Met Jon Niese snapped the Horrible Streak Of Wearing Black at 3.   Thank you Jon.

Those of you from uptown might be interested in the Mitchell & Ness NYY #23 in honor of the bench coach of the Dodgers.  (By the way I am looking forward to “the media” writing generic Torre articles on Friday when the NYY’s play the Formerly Brooklyns.)

(Hey Media Goon, if the Mets blow 10-0 delete this post so they don’t make fun of me.)
