Shopping for Mr. Met caps on Opening Day at the Citi Field store

One of the fun things about Opening Day is that I met some actual readers.  What surprised me is that readers actually enjoy the snarky posts about Mets caps.   Well, good news – there’s plenty of new caps out there.

I’ve been posting a lot of museum/opening day pictures but I’m jonesing to do a caps post so let’s do a quick one.  First the pictures then the comments.  The challenge: guess which one I actually purchased.

That first picture (my usual awful framing): there we see an unappealing blue cap with New York on it.  Clutter.  It’s not even a Mr. Met cap, why is it in this post?

#2: Two Mr. Met caps.  That blue one on the left is kinda cool…the one on the right, eh, why buy it if the one on the left exists and is right next to it.

#3: a nice looking blue and orange Mr. Met cap.  If I were a hot chick and I saw a fat guy in one of those I’d give him a kiss.

#4:  also a blue and orange Mr. Met cap but someone got carried away with the orange dontcha think?

#5:  That one on the left is interesting and quirky..Mr. Met’s cap has blown off!

#6:  Interesting in that Mr. Met is standing (or leaning on a bat) but why did they ruin it with the orange line thingies?

#7:  Also not a Mr. Met cap but how about that variant NY.  Very cool.

#8:  The answer to today’s quiz, and perhaps the clues gave it away – I bought this one.  $18.

Pictures of McFadden’s Citi Field

Fun game tonight despite the loss.  Never should have been that close.

Lots of booers at Citi tonight.   It has to stop.

Went to McFadden’s.   Nice, roomy, nothing special (yet?).   A good meetup place – I met Media Goon there and we had one beer then went in the CF stairs gate.

Glad it’s there, not sure how often I personally will use it.

I think beer (aluminum bottles) are in the $6/$7 range.  I had a $2 special.

Pictures follow…

Pics from The Mets Sunday Workout 4/4/10

I met up with Shannon on Sunday for the workout day at Citi Field. Considering how the pics he takes usual come out, I decided to give some extra coverage of the new stuff at the ballpark. I have to say Shannon did a good job covering the new museum and additional “tweeks” to then HOME of the Mets.Yeah I know it was the home of the Mets last year but it did not feel like it. Now do not get me wrong, I liked Citi Field last year. The only thing was that it could have been any stadium in any city USA. Now with everything the organization did to “Mets” up the place worked. Walking into the museum I was blown away by just everything in it. I was expecting the Mets to not put a lot of effort in it. I was wrong. And I am glad I was. I was so impressed by everything that I had seen throughout the park that I even emailed the Mets to say they did a great job. This is part 1. Click pics for larger view.

Pictures of Mets Hall of Fame and Museum: Broadcast Legends exhibit

When you enter the museum take a hard right and walk to the corner and you’ll find this neato interactive exhibit featuring the Mets announcers.

Some have criticized this exhibit that the audio presentations are hard to hear…I am confident the Mets will make a modification.
