Ceetar who is a frequent contributor to the conversation here, and runs Optimistic Mets Fan, informs me that hot dog easting contests at Met ballparks are not new (one is coming up at Citi) and has the photos to prove it.

The big story was that a fanbrick was placed outside Citi Field that incorrectly listed Sid Fernandez as “earning the win.” The Mets have quickly removed the brick. Great job!
