Impossible Poll: is the New York Mets Apple cool?

I was surprised to learn that there are Mets fans who don’t dig the Apple(s).

This week’s impossible poll can be found on the right column of the website. If you are reading this via email or google reader, click here.

Last week’s poll asked if Jenrry Mejia should come north or be sent down (presumably for his long-term growth) and 58% voted to send him down.

Video shows new lower CF fence at Citi Field

I am leaving this post and the one below it (they removed the incorrect brick) as “sticky” today so they don’t get buried. For frequent visitors, new content will be rolled out all day long in the third position down.

Here’s a video of the first couple getting married at Citi Field.  While I wish the couple well, I’m even more excited to see video from inside the stadium.   Take a look and you’ll see the new fence.

Hey is that a 2000’s era throwback jersey the groom is wearing?  Remember they used to wear more of a white-white with pinstripes, with black dropshadow?  (What, those are now throwbacks aren’t they?).   Do they sell them?  I want to get one with Casey Fossum on it.)

Wow what a week..and for those who are new to the free daily email subscriptions, some of these you may not have seen.

The big story was that a fanbrick was placed outside Citi Field that incorrectly listed Sid Fernandez as “earning the win.” The Mets have quickly removed the brick. Great job!

Here are some pictures of some other new historical fanwalk squares.

A fellow blog posted these great pictures of Citi Field modifications. Definitely check it out.

The ‘Ropolitans posted a video of Banner Day.

A guard told a fan that the Hall of Fame may not be ready for Opening Day. It’s unconfirmed and I trust my source, but hopefully the guard is mistaken.

The Mets have introduced gluten-free and vegetarian foods.

I am sad about Dwight Gooden

Yankee Stadium Demolition pictures: 14 of them, 14 more and a video.

I bought the 1983 style Tom Seaver jersey.

If you’re new, this regularly gets clicked: It might make financial sense, but it sure is annoying to think Bobby Bonilla will get $1 million a year from the Mets from 2011-2035.
